Starting on June 7th, there will be a Children’s Storytime every Sunday from 10:00-10:15 over Zoom Meeting. I am inviting all high school youth, parents,
grandparents, aunts, uncles, foster parents, and members of the fellowship to read their favorite children’s book. If you don’t have a favorite, please pick another one that you know the children might like. You can sign up with Sarah Sutherland through her email at email@example.com and she will add you to the list and send you the zoom link to log in. This will be a wonderful time to connect with the children in our time of social distancing and open their eyes to new books.
Children and Fellowship Story Time: This week Pat Harms will be reading, A Chair for My Mother written and illustrated by Vera Williams. Vera Williams tells of a young girl, who along with her waitress mother, Rosa, and her Grandmother, saves coins in a big jar in hopes that they will someday buy a big, new, soft, comfortable chair for their apartment. It is just what her mother needs after being on her feet all day at the Blue Tile Diner. After their apartment burned and there was only “charcoal and ashes” left they had nowhere soft to sit in their new apartment. Will they be able to fill their big jar of coins to buy anything big and soft? Her heartwarming story talks about the values of a family and how they worked together to put coins in their jar.
Anyone can join us on Sunday at 10:00 for Story Time. The Zoom Link will be in the Saturday Update.
